Information for students, faculty and staff regarding COVID-19. (Updated: 27 November 2020)

How is Curiosum adapting to COVID-19?

Curiosum wants to help limit the spread of COVID-19. We also want to welcome visitors through our doors for the first time! Out of consideration for our visitors and employees, we are taking several precautions. For us to be able to welcome you safely, we need your help to follow the Swedish Public Health Agency's recommendations.

What YOU can do to reduce the risk of spreading the infection:

  • Stay at home if you are sick
  • Wash your hands often with soap and water or use hand sanitizer, especially before or after touching our interactive exhibits
  • Sneeze and cough into your elbow
  • Keep a distance of at least 1 to 1,5 meters
  • Avoid touching merchandise in the store that you are not intending to buy

CURIOSUM will do the following to reduce the risk of spreading the infection:

  • Limit the days and hours we are open.
  • Limit the number of visitors to the house and to each activity.
  • Limit the number of activities taking place in the house.
  • Limit the time each activity takes.
  • FabLab (open workshops) and the café will be closed until the risk of infection has decreased.
  • Arrange activities in closed rooms with a limited number of participants.
  • Introduce advanced ticket booking for all activities to avoid queues.
  • Increase and strengthen cleaning routines with regular disinfection of exposed surfaces.
  • Offer the possibility of hand disinfection in several places in the building.
  • Arrange all major autumn events digitally. For example, Astronomy Day and Night and the science festival ForskarFredag will be livestreamed.
  • Follow Umeå University's and the Swedish Public Health Agency's recommendations regarding Covid-19.
