On Saturday, 19 September, we’re celebrating Astronomy Day and Night at Curiosum! With this year’s theme, ‘For Space Through Time’, we’re inviting the whole family to a day filled with star-studded discoveries. Try exciting space experiments, join us on amazing journeys through space in Wisdome Umeå, and who knows – you might even meet our very own astronaut!
Could the planets in our solar system float on water if there were an ocean big enough? And what’s the difference between rocky planets and gas giants? Try out different objects and compare the “floatability” of the planets in this hands-on density experiment. Will you manage to make your potato-Saturn float?

In this thrilling escape game, you are the crew of Apollo 13. The plan was to land on the Moon – but suddenly something goes wrong. Work together to solve the problems and bring your spaceship safely back to Earth before time runs out!
We’re opening up our creative workshop and offering a range of creative activities – all with a space theme.
The activities in our labs and Makerspace are led by our guides and have limited spots. During peak visitor times, a ticket system will be used. Tickets can be collected outside each activity room 60 minutes before the activity starts.
